The "AI tax"
The first wave of adoption left behind a patchwork of disconnected tools. 77% of workers juggle multiple AI tools every week; a third use four or more. Each one lives isolated from the systems where the company's real knowledge sits: the CRM, the ERP, the documents, the tickets.
The bill is already visible in the data. Over 95% of IT leaders report that integration issues hinder AI adoption, and only 6% of companies have seen even 75% of the ROI they expected (ISG). And the cost is not only financial: 53% of workers say the information critical to their job is not accessible through their AI systems, and 69% admit to shipping generated work they couldn't defend.
The problem is almost never the language model. It is that the model doesn't know the company.
The answer: Work AI
The category that solves that tax is not another chatbot, but a central platform that connects, understands and governs all of the organization's knowledge: connectors to the applications where information already lives, an assistant and search for everyone, agents built on the same knowledge graph, and real-time permissions guaranteeing nobody sees through the AI what they couldn't see directly.
The category reference is Glean, named one of the "Emerging Leaders" by Gartner® in its 2025 Innovation Guide for Generative AI Knowledge Management Apps, with 275+ connectors and customers including Databricks, Duolingo, Reddit, Booking.com and Zillow.
The evidence
Forrester's Total Economic Impact study documents the typical return: up to 110 hours saved per user per year, payback in under 6 months, and 93% adoption within two years. Add 36 hours saved per employee on onboarding and roughly 20% fewer internal support requests.
For a 1,000-employee company, that is the equivalent of recovering dozens of full-time roles' worth of capacity without cutting a single one.
Why LATAM, why now
The region has accelerating budgets and an identified gap: in Mexico, 23.3% of companies have not started an inventory of their data assets and only 56.3% of data is available for analytics and AI. Read with the right lens, that is not an impediment but the agenda: connecting knowledge is the shortest path from approved budget to actual return.
In markets where most are still buying standalone chatbots, the first company in a sector to connect its knowledge sets the productivity standard.
